On this episode, meet a local leader! Mattie is a lifelong Halifax resident. She is the 9th child of 12 and learned at an early age the importance of giving back to her community. 
Her love for giving back to the community has led her to serve others by getting involved in local elections. She is currently running in hopes of being elected to the Board of Supervisors. She urges everyone to register to vote, the importance in listening to learn, and to serve people as best as you can.
Mattie leaves several pieces of wisdom with us on this episode, including, "to those who have given much, much is required."

He was born in Halifax and always had a dream of going into the military. When that didn't pan out, he heard from a neighbor that Rogers was hiring, and the rest is history!
Sam talks to Alyssa about his goals he'd like to accomplish at Rogers as well as his life motto and what he does when he is not working.

Trent is a full-time influencer who makes HVAC comedy skits. We encourage you to check him out on all his platforms. He even gets his wife involved in his shenanigans. Trent talks about how he was able to quit his full-time job to become a full-time influencer. 
When asked who he'd love to feature in his content he said without hesitation, "Ric Flair."
When Alyssa asked her famous question about who he'd love to have dinner with, Trent answered, "Hank Williams Jr."

On this episode, Alyssa recaps April and its many exciting and difficult moments. To start off, Alyssa talks about the difficulties of being without a home. Alyssa and her family are still waiting to move into the apartment at the office. She can't wait to have a real bed and to stop eating gas station food!
Alyssa talks about the Rogers cat, Ginny and her exciting surprise, as well as recapping her early April speaking engagement at Service Nation in Nashville. Alyssa spoke about the power of podcasting and thanked all of her listeners for making her podcast possible.
To wrap up the episode, Alyssa talks about Rogers' most recent company event. The Rogers' team did the Rusty Wallace Experience--yes, that's right, they became race car drivers for the day!
Alyssa puts emphasis on the importance of taking care of your team, getting out of your comfort zone & not assuming people know you care about them.

On this episode, we are joined once again by Reverend Larry Davis. Larry talks about how God called him to serve in the church. Reverend Davis also talks about his career in the church, including teaching Sunday school for 37 years, and how his Baptist Church is 238 years old- and still a pillar in the community. Larry lets everyone know that there shouldn't just be one day of prayer, that every day we should be praying to God. That being said, National Day of Prayer is this Thursday. If you would like to participate, there will be prayer in the auditorium of Halifax County High school at 6:30. There will be refreshments.

On this episode, we are joined by Sabren Salti, the Opportunity Center Manager at Rogers!
Sabren AKA the Rogers Hype Woman found herself in the HVAC space by accident (like most of us do!). 
Sabren stumbled upon HVAC while bartending in Montana. She eventually moved home to Mississippi and worked for PSP (Power-Selling Pros).  
We have stolen Sabren from Mississippi and she has made South Boston her home!
Her reason for being at Rogers is for the people. She is a HUGE people person and has lots of goals for the Opportunity Center. Sabren tells Alyssa that she wants to, "enhance the team's confidence." 
Sabren shares the importance of knowing your team and their personalities and that there will never be a customer left behind!
Her motto is, "Make those mistakes and learn from them!"
We are so glad to have Sabren on our team!

On this episode, we are joined by Devin Hall of Building Buddies.
Devin recently was on Wheel of Fortune! So he's a local celebrity now! Devin was born and raised in Halifax. He has 15 years experience in summer camps, which helps him with his current endeavor.  Building Buddies is a Lego building club that Devin started. 
He left Halifax, but came back, noting that "the best medicine for anything is being back home."
He loves the supportive community that the Halifax are provides. 
His goals for Building Buddies is to expand to adults and families, and introduce a "Sip and Click" program.
Alyssa asks Devin what it's like to be a role model and Devin explains that his biggest lesson he learned about starting a business is that you can't do it yourself. 
Devin's end goal is to have Building Buddies become a franchise.
